FAQs

 Are you insured ?

Yes, I`m covered by Pet Business insurance.  I can show you my insurance during the initial visit.

Do I need to pay a deposit ?

Generally a deposit is not required.  There may be occasions for longer bookings or to secure a future booking during a peak period when 50% deposit is requested.
What about cancellation fees ?

Clients are requested to give a minimum of 48 hours notice for a cancellation.  A small fee of £15 may be charged when less than 48 hours notice is given.  The full fee is charged if your booking is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice.
What if my pet becomes ill or is injured ?

I will of course contact you as soon as possible and if necessary take your pet to your usual vet.  I will take your vets details during our initial meeting. I also ask you to complete a vet release form that ensures I am aware of your wishes in extreme circumstances if I am not able to contact you.  This form is especially important if you are out of the UK or in an area where it may be difficult to contact you.  If your pet requires emergency vet care out of hours, I will take them.  Obviously this is expensive and worth bearing in mind when you complete the amount you consent to pay on the vet release form.
Will you be able to let my cat out whilst I`m away ?

There are two possible situations, either your cat stays in and I will manage the litter tray/s or your cat has access to the outdoors via a cat flap.  I will ask you to sign a  cat flap disclaimer if the latter is the case.

What is the booking process ?

After your enquiry, I will answer any queries and check availability for your  dates.  I will ask your postcode, if you haven`t already mentioned this in your enquiry, this is because the charge is different for addresses more than 2 miles from my home.  I can give you a quote for the service you require.
If you wish to proceed, I will then arrange a short initial meeting (no charge) to meet you and your cat/s and ensure you feel happy for me to be coming into your home.  I will bring a file so that you can see my insurance, DBS and other relevant documents.

 What about keys ?
If you have a spare key available at the initial visit, I will take this with me.  All keys are labelled (just with your pets name) and stored in a locked key box.  My insurance includes `key cover`.  It is always worth a quick check that keys work ok, especially if there are newly cut as they can be quirky ! I can collect a key at another time, however if you live over 2 miles from my home address in S6, a small charge of £3 is added to the invoice.  There is no charge for key return.
I do not put keys through the door until you have returned home, this is in case of any delays with your journey that may require additional care to be provided.

What times are your visits ?

Cats prefer routine and therefore to minimise stress, as far as possible I try to provide care at times to match their usual pattern.  This depends on other bookings, traffic and occasionally dealing with emergencies.  Generally morning visits are between 7.15-10am and teatime visits between 4-6.30 pm.  If your cat has medication at particular times, I will always try to accommodate this.  For clients booking the luxury option, priority is given to your preferred timings.
